McCloy Cup Hockey Qualifier
The girls hockey team travelled to Parkhall Integrated College to play in the McCloy Cup Qualifier tournament. ๐
The girls were up against three other schools in the group stages and won all three games. They played Broughshane PS (5-0), Moorfields PS (5-0) and The Diamond Ps (6-0). The semi final was next for them but once again they held their own winning against Antrim PS 5-1 to secure their place in the final. ๐๐
Their final game was a tightly contested game between Clough and Gracehill PS but the girls stayed strong coming away with a 1-0 win, making them the overall winners of the tournament.๐ฅ
As a result of winning the competition the team will now head to Stormont Playball Pitches in April to play in the Northern Ireland finals.
Outstanding talent and team play was witnessed today and these girls will go far, which is a real credit to themselves and their school.
What a success story for the girls!โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ
A BIG shoutout must go to Sarah who has helped coach the girls along the way and believing in them that they could reach the finals of such a prestigious tournament. They (and Mrs Overend) couldn’t have done it without you!!๐๐
